Set building and staging services

We handle design, fabrication, bump-in and bump-out, so production teams can focus on the show, not the set.

The set must be ready. The show won't wait.

Production work operates under pressures that don't exist in other construction projects. Bump-in windows are tight, opening nights are immovable, venue compliance is strict and the set needs to be safe, finished and looking exactly as designed.

That's exactly what our crafted process was built for. High-stakes environments where the deadline can't move and the set must be ready when bump-in starts. So you can focus on the production, not the set build.

From TV studio sets and theatre productions to film sets, corporate event stages, festival performance spaces and awards show staging, we fabricate sets and staging for Australia's entertainment and events industry. One-off production or extended season, every set is built to perform.

From the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Lyric Theatre to Queensland Performing Arts Centre, Riverside Theatres, Fox Studios and broadcast facilities nationwide, we build sets and staging for Australia's leading performance venues and production studios. Theatre production or studio broadcast, we make it happen.

Our crafted process

Building sets for productions where opening night can't move is high-pressure work, but it doesn't have to mean sleepless nights. Our carefully crafted, step-by-step process (with detailed timelines, designs broken down into bite-sized pieces, to make decision making simple and easy) is designed to bring you inside the process you're usually shut out of… so instead of getting "she'll be right", you get clarity, order and reassurance… every step of the way.

01

Brief

01

Your set design brief is where we begin.

Creative set concepts don't always match production budgets, and that's the reality of stage productions. We work alongside you to refine the set design until the creative intent, the budget constraints and the production schedule align.
02

Plan

02

We draft everything upfront, so our builders don’t need to play a guessing game.

Our technical drawing team documents every scenic element and construction detail while your project manager communicates each phase in production-friendly language. You'll know exactly what's being built, why technical decisions are made and what happens at every stage.
03

Production

03

Two things advance simultaneously. Set build and bump-in planning.

While our construction crew builds your set in the workshop, your project manager maps out the bump-in strategy with you. Venue access, load-in windows, rigging coordination, technical rehearsals. Every element is planned before the truck arrives at the theatre.
04

Install

04

We arrive at the venue ready for bump-in.

Set installation begins in our workshop, not backstage. We pre-build and test every piece to verify it meets the design specs, pack it securely for transport and walk the crew through the bump-in plan. When we arrive at your venue, we're ready to get the set stage-ready fast.
05

Pack

05

After the production closes, we handle bump-out and removal.

When the final curtain falls and the season ends, our crew returns to strike the set and clear the venue completely. You're left with a successfully delivered production and a clean space, while we take care of all the pack-down.

Questions

Find answers to
common questions.

What is set building for TV, theatre, film and live events?

Set building is the design and fabrication of custom stage environments, scenic elements, and physical installations for television productions, theatre performances, film shoots, and live event experiences.

What types of sets do you build?

We build TV studio sets, theatre stage designs, film backdrops, live event stages, concert scenery, award show environments, scenic props, modular stage elements, and custom installations for productions.

Do you build sets for productions Australia-wide?

Yes. We fabricate sets at our Sydney workshop and coordinate delivery, installation, and technical support for TV, theatre, film, and live event productions across Australia.

Can you work to a production designer's drawings?

Yes. We work directly from production designer drawings, technical plans, and set designs. We collaborate closely with designers to ensure the build matches the creative vision and technical specifications.

Can sets be designed to tour or reuse across productions?

Yes. We design sets to be modular, portable, and durable for touring productions or multi-show reuse. Sets can be flat-packed, reconfigured, or adapted for different venues.

How is pricing structured for a custom set build?

We work with production teams to match set design with budget and schedule, then provide a quote and build strategy covering materials, fabrication, finishes, installation, and strike.
